Our Philosophy

In line with the University philosophy, the Department of Biochemistry is designed to train students to be practically oriented to meet the manpower needs of the Country. The Department also provides students from various life sciences such as Medicine, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, and Agriculture with basic and general knowledge of Biochemistry. Our scientists are grouped into three broad research areas:Plant Biochemistry and Toxicology, Medical Biochemistry and Nutritional and Food Biochemistry. The programme is also designed to make students fit easily into teaching Biochemistry at higher levels.
